Lights

Lights

Seeing and being seen is one of the maximum premises in driving. Since February 2011, European legislation requires that all vehicles marketed in the EU, that they equip daylight devices with energy saving lamps, which are activated automatically when the vehicle starts. If the lights are switched on during the march, the daytime lights lower their brightness so as not to dazzle. They are mandatory at the front and its objective is not for the driver to see better, but for the vehicle to be more visible to the rest of the road users.

If your vehicle is prior to this regulation, please use the dipped beam headlamps (the short ones) to be seen. There is a report from the SWOV (Road Safety Research Institute of the Netherlands) that indicates that not having seen the other vehicle, or having seen it too late, has played a key role in 50% of the traffic accidents registered during the day, percentage that rises to 80% when the accident occurs at an intersection. The increase in safety is key, since it allows drivers and pedestrians to see your position, especially on days where there are areas of light and shadows in which the view has to adapt, as well as times of day when the sun is in positions low.

Some yellow or opaque optics diminish "what you see". It is important at all times to keep them free of this wear, as well as how to choose the right bulbs for our car. In our workshop we inform you of everything you need, from a possible polishing of headlights to the use of LED luminaire approved, which in addition to seeing, also contributes to the improvement of consumption, thanks to its energy efficiency.
