ITV / MOT

Who drives a vehicle knows that the ITV (MOT) (Vehicle Technical Inspection) in Spain is mandatory depending on the life of the vehicle. Cars and motorcycles have to pass it 4 years after their first registration when they are new. From that date it will be every 2 years until it is 10 years old, thereafter, it will be every year.

As important data, if you do not have your ITV in force, in case of accident it is as if you did not have insurance, so it is important to have everything up to date. Not to mention the fine, which will also come in this case.

At the ITV they will look at the car on the outside and inside. A first ocular inspection by the worker of the station will verify the general condition of the vehicle on the outside, the elements of the body, mirrors, windows, license plate, optics. Inside they will check the operation of the doors, the windows, central locking, the belts and anchors ... in short, the most used elements.

Once this part is completed, they will check the status of the lights and signaling to make way for a simulation with the vehicle in motion, where emissions of carbon monoxide (popularly known as "the test of gases "). Once passed, it is proven that the brakes fulfill their function well, that the damping of the car behaves correctly, that it does not make more noise than normal, that there are no elements in the direction that affect safe driving, losses of liquids and corrosion

Proper maintenance offers the peace of mind that the car will pass the test without problems. Check our PRE-ITV service, where we check the vehicle before taking it to the corresponding station by appointment.
